Bass Fishing Tips – Learn to Catch More Bass
There are so many species of fish to catch, it is hard for most fishermen to choose just one as their favorite. However, if most fishermen has to pick just one, it would probably have to be bass fishing. Bass fishing has been one of the most popular types of fishing for the past few decades. When you turn on the television on Saturday mornings, you will consistently find fishing shows almost dedicated to fishing for bass. Whether it be largemouth or smallmouth bass, folks love to catch them. You can become very proficient at catching these fish, but you have to know the right techniques.
First off, you have to find the fish. The first step in doing this is to be aware of what time of year it is as this is a large determining factor as to where the fish are in a large body of water. You can find out about where fish are at in different seasons by consulting your local fishing organization. This only tells you where in general they are. To find their specific location, you will want to keep your eyes open for structure. Examples of structure include submerged brush, rock piles, fallen trees, and areas of flooded stumps.
Once you know where the bass are, or where they are most likely to be, you can start fishing for them. Contrary to what most anglers will say, there is no perfect rule or formula for this. There is no one single catch-all lure that is always hot. A lure can be catching bass one after the other one day, and not even catch a weed the next. What it comes down to is trying a variety of lures until you find the one that works the best that day.
